Melissa Fearn-Lange (native English) began teaching English when she moved to Germany from Cambridgeshire, England in 2001.
Melissa studied English and Communication Studies in England, and on arriving in Germany, began teaching Business and General English to adults. She soon found out that teaching English to Kindergarten children was much more fun!
As the busy mother of two small, bilingual children, Melissa continues to enjoy teaching English in Kindergartens and also teaches pre-kindergarten children.
The idea for writing this Kindergarten English Course was inspired by the ‚Action Songs‘ CD that is included in the course. I love the songs and remember many of them from my own childhood. They are the traditional favourites of English children and are passed down from one generation to the next. The CD has been specially recorded so that young children will find the songs easy to learn and understand.
It’s always exciting for me to see how quickly the children can progress in learning and understanding English as a second language. As teachers, it is our responsibility to make language learning fun, to build confidence in the children and to give lots of praise and encouragement. We are helping them to develop a skill that can benefit them for the rest of their lives.
